Un-Googling myself
I have a very nice blog over on Blogger. I love my blog, but...
Google.
I no longer feel comfortable on there. And that made me sorta abandon the blog for a while. I looked into different options for migrating it. What I settled on is Bearblog (we're on it obviously duh). The main draw was the simplicity. I'm familiar with markdown and I know a little bit of html and this is simple enough for me to find my way around and have control. I also like all the stuff from the bear manifesto. Feels like the right place to be.
Now I gotta be honest, my blogger blog is 90% photo album. But I don't wanna handle that quatity of images on here. My first idea was trying a Fediverse option. I actually tried two pixelfed servers but I didn't really like it there. Eventually I found Cara which is the perfect mix of Instagram and DeviantART for me. It's still beta but as is I'm already happy with how it handles. So my photoalbums and heavy galleries go there.
I do have a mastodon account - note to self: make a contact page or something.
I also got a fun idea I wanan make on Neocities but i don't know nearly enough html and almost noe css to pull that off yet. But hey, if I'm learning one magic language, why can't I learn three!? - I don't know where to stop, do I?
